According to Esports Charts, a data and statistics site, the 2024 League of Legends Worlds Grand Final was the most-watched esports match of all time with more than 6.9 million viewers at its peak. This decision certainly feels quite difficult for Respawn, but they themselves cannot come up with the best solution other than blocking access. This is done because Linux is said to be a nest of exploits and cheats that are difficult for the system to detect.

“This may impact a small number of Apex players, but we believe this is the best solution to reduce existing cheating cases,” Respawn Entertainment said in their tweet.

Unfortunately, this is not a new issue. If we look at EA’s current game catalog, we start to see the same trend. EA is also currently working on implementing their new anticheat for some of the kadotogel games that are still active.
