Apex Legends is presented as a unique competitive game. Combining the main elements of battle royale with hero shooter style skills, this game is able to attract the attention of gamers thanks to its uniqueness.
Not a few gamers have finally tried out this game on their portable devices, such as the mobile version which has been closed or via UMPC such as Steam Deck and ROG Ally.
Unfortunately, this fun was suddenly stopped by the development team. With a heavy heart, Respawn stated that from now on Steam Deck users will no longer be able to play Apex Legends.
Via the official Twitter account @PlayApex, Respawn also launched their important announcement which briefly stated that Apex Legends could no longer be played via Linux or Steam Deck.
This decision certainly feels quite difficult for Respawn, but they themselves cannot come up with the best solution other than blocking access. This is done because Linux is said to be a nest of exploits and cheats that are difficult for the system to detect.
“This may impact a small number of Apex players, but we believe this is the best solution to reduce existing cheating cases,” Respawn Entertainment said in their tweet.
Unfortunately, this is not a new issue. If we look at EA’s current game catalog, we start to see the same trend. EA is also currently working on implementing their new anticheat for some of the kadotogel games that are still active.
For example, games like EA SPORTS WRC and Battlefield 1 can no longer be played by Linux and Steam Deck gamers. This list will continue to grow as time goes by.
EA itself certainly doesn’t want their games to become a nest for cheaters, but the impact is also felt by Linux users. Even those who are reluctant about Windows continuing to get worse can only suck their thumbs.
And for those who can’t accept this, review bombs are considered the best way, as is currently happening on the Steam page for Apex Legends.
Despite the many claims made by existing developers and publishers, the fact is clear that so many cheats are designed to run on Windows devices.
Apart from that, nowadays cheats are starting to get smarter. Cheaters no longer need the program on the same PC, they can run the cheat via separate hardware, for example a second PC to reduce anti-cheat detection!
